EscapeGoat Games - Blog/Updates

2.27.25- Okay, this is supposed to be a blog page to encourage me to post some kind of updates on occasion. I recently have started hacking around again in Unity and Blender, trying to improve in the many different skills it takes to create a game.

Originally intending to build a small team for building Bud Barons digitally, which would have included an actual programmer, I started hacking around, doing some basic code creation to lay out how the game would run. Long story short, I’m now about halfway through setting up the code enough to end up with a prototype that might get someone interested in working on the project. I will definitely need coding help when it comes time to button up the game and optimize everything.

On the Unity side, I have begun importing all of the art for the cards into the game, and setting up the game space and pieces, so that I can start attaching the code pieces. I’m getting better with Blender, too, but I’d really love to find a graphic artist that can work with my game character, Buddy, and get a workable model set up to be featured in the game.

So, that’s mostly where we are in terms of development. On a personal note, The last couple of years have been really difficult, and with the recent passing of my mom, it’s taking me a little while to recover and try to refocus my efforts on this game. In just this last week, I’ve been finally starting to feel some creative energy again, despite the dark oppressive turn here politically, and I have done more work on my RPG system that is in the works for some time in the future.
